Kitchen Cabinet FAQs

How much do new kitchen cabinets cost in Princeton, NJ?

It depends on which option you choose. Painting a typical kitchen runs about $2,800 to $10,000. Refacing runs about $4,500 to $15,000. Full replacement in New Jersey often runs $15,000–$40,000+, and custom cabinets cost about $350 to $1,000+ per linear foot. We'll give you exact prices after a free visit.

Is it cheaper to reface or replace kitchen cabinets?

Refacing is almost always cheaper. It usually saves 40% to 50% compared with replacing cabinets in the same kitchen. The catch is that your cabinet boxes need to be solid, and you need to like your current layout. If either isn't true, replacement is the better buy.

How long does cabinet refacing take?

Most refacing jobs take three to five days in your home. Your new doors are made to order first, which can take three to ten weeks depending on the material. Your kitchen stays usable during the work.

Can all kitchen cabinets be painted?

Most wood and MDF cabinets paint well. Thermofoil, peeling laminate, and water-damaged boxes do not. Paint won't stick to those surfaces for long. We'll check your doors in person and tell you if paint will last.

What's the difference between custom and semi-custom cabinets?

Semi-custom cabinets come in standard sizes that adjust in 3-inch steps, with many styles and finishes. Custom cabinets are built to your exact measurements in any wood or door style. Semi-custom costs less, while custom fits odd rooms and older homes better.

Do you offer free in-home estimates?

Yes. We come to your home, measure your kitchen, show you samples, and send a written quote within a few days. There's no charge and no pressure to sign.

Can you work with older or out-of-square homes?

Yes. Many Princeton homes are 50 to 100 years old, with walls that lean and floors that slope. We shim, scribe, and adjust every cabinet so it looks straight in your room.
